Her Story

This is My Story

I see my life as a "song" in motion, fluid and flowing from one vein to another. I can walk through the annals of m life from the songs that wer planed in my heart. As a 17 year old, in the throes of a major turn in my life, I found myself caught between 2 songs, "Who Can I Turn to When Nobody Needs Me" by Dionne Warwick and "You'll Never Walk Alone" once sang by Pattie LaBelle.

Though my early start in life was with my parents Nathaniel & Josephine Brickel in Oakland, California, I would end up living with my grandmother in Oklahoma. In high school I attended Manual Training High School (MTHS). Its is the Oldest Black Educational Institution in Muskogee for Negroes. This school is also one of the oldest Extant Black Secondary Schools in Eastern Oklahoma, constructed in 1910. MTHS is a two and three story brick building built in the style of the Second Renaissance Revival. The school has a flat room with a parapet in a contrasting brick. It is listed in the National Registrar 06/22/1984 and destroyed in 2023. I would later return to California to attend Cal Western University 1967-1968 located in San Diego, California.

It was on the Lord's da while sitting in His presence that I heard a voice from within say; "I am the Good Shepherd and know my sheep, and am known of mine. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:14, 16, 27." And although I had heard this familiar voice before, this time it was different. As I leaned forward to hear His voice clearly, I was immediately caught up into the days of yesteryear as I sat on the shores of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California. I was eighteen years old, far away from Muskogee, Oklahoma where I grew up and graduated from High School, suffering from a broken heart.

Now, here I am loving my Washington/Johnson family, my church family, and doing the work of God. All of my experiences lead to This Right Now Moment and I am grateful. My legacy is secured only because of my faith in God, my fellowship with God's people and my

Her Beginning

Born in Oakland to Nathaniel and Josephine Brickel, Blanche Washington's life journey would become marked by faith, purpose, leadership, and a commitment to empowering others.

Her Life

She spent much of her younger years in Muskogee, OK and later attended college in San Diego, CA, where she continued to develop the educational and leadership foundations that would influence her life's work.

Her Love

She later married and became the proud mother of two children, a legacy that has since expanded to include cherished grandchildren. Her public and ministry service spans more than 55 years, during which she has dedicated her life to teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential.

Her Legacy

When her earthly journey is complete and her life has spoken its final "Yes and Amen," family, friends, ministry leaders, and all those whose lives she has touched will gather to honor her extraordinary life, enduring love, remarkable legacy, and profound impact. But above every tribute and accolade, the highest honor will be reserved by God Himself, who will welcome her home with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)
